Laurie is
happy to discuss with any organisation their requirements for the
effective and safe running of their business fleet.

Even if
your business may only have a small number of vehicles, you need to be
able to run them efficiently by employing energy and cost saving
techniques. Drivers can also be an expensive exercise if they are not
properly trained in all aspects of managing the resource that is
entrusted to them.
A solution
specifically tailored to the nature of your business and duty of the
drivers can be developed, to ensure the smooth running of any fleet of
vehicles, and create a more cost effective system of operation.
Corporate Driver
Education
Our program
consists of assessing the driving skills and attitudes of individual
employees and reporting to management any deficiencies observed in any
of the following criteria.
There are five
basic steps to good driving. Drivers will learn a lot about the current
road law and themselves through this very hands on course, they need to
excel in all five areas. All vehicles used must be roadworthy and
maintained in “good” condition.
VEHICLE
CONTROL.
Our ability to maintain control of the vehicle in an emergency is
crucial. This requires an expert steering and braking technique.
VEHICLE
SAFETY.
A driver uses his/her vehicle as their workplace. We will examine
the vehicle for items such as tool kits, lunch boxes, drink
containers etc. these are all missiles and need to be stored
appropriately
SAFETY
PRINCIPLES.
Vision, Space, Early Decisions, Visibility and Avoidance, must all
be understood and linked in order to minimise risk whilst driving.
ROAD RULES.
We need to excel in both the knowledge and application of these.
DRIVER
ATTITUDE.
Little emphasis is generally placed on this important component.
Nowadays however, it is becoming even more relevant than ever
before. The stress of living in a large city is being reflected in
the aggression of many drivers, who should find other, more
appropriate outlets for “letting off steam.” Patience and courtesy
should be at the forefront when it comes to driver attitude.
We also provide
and recommend a presentation on Low Risk Driving and a Road Rules
knowledge test.
Overall, this is a neat and concise little package,
which can be staggered so it doesn’t remove employees from the workplace
for too long at any given time.
