”Failing The TEST”
The following is the main criteria for failing the NSW driving test. It will be similar to most states of Australia except for the Blindspot checks prior to turning left and right. For more detailed information PLEASE check your home state requirements.

Disobeying traffic signs, signals or road markings
Be sure you have a thorough understanding of the meaning of regulatory signs, traffic signals and road markings. They tell you what road rules apply in any specific situation. Examples of this fail item included
Not stopping at a red traffic light.
This means that all of your vehicle must be behind the stop line.
The nose of your vehicle must be within a metre of but not over the first (thickest) line.
Not stopping at a yellow traffic light when it is safe to do so. You must stop at a yellow light unless sudden braking might cause a crash.
If you’re within approximately 10 metres of the traffic lights and dependant upon the speed your travelling, it isn’t advisable to try to stop as you won’t have ample time to recheck your rear mirror for vehicles travelling too close behind you.
*HINT* always cover your brakes when approaching any intersection. This cuts down on reaction time and has you prepared to stop if necessary.
Also keep your eyes on the traffic lights when approaching; you can still see the vehicles in front with your peripheral vision. This simple method will give you an early warning to the lights changing
Not stopping correctly at a stop line.
Your final stopped position must be within one metre of the stop line and with no part of your car over the line.
Same as the traffic lights, the nose of your vehicle must be within a metre of but not over the line
You obviously need to learn driving in order to carry out driving.
