"I am a licensed and
accredited heavy vehicle
Competency Based
Assessor in NSW."
Having spent 20+ years training and assessing military drivers in heavy vehicles from light rigid through to heavy combination, Laurie is able to draw on his vast experience to assist new heavy vehicle drivers to be highly competent and safe on our roads.
Competency based assessment is a more relaxed way of learning. Many don't understand how easy it is or how much you can learn. It covers all the basic manoeuvres; and includes; breakdown procedures, loads and lashings and pre-departure checks.
Laurie also includes information on the current fatigue management system, heavy vehicle logbooks, weighbridge procedures and do's and don'ts of long distance driving.
Laurie specialises in ambulance and fire service licence upgrades.
